2026 Miné Crane Wall Calendar
The 2026 Miné Crane Wall Calendar celebrates the the works of this talented artist.
Each month features a Mine painting, noted for its unique style of Folk Art that combines elements of Japanese linear drawing with an added element of American whimsy and the use of bold color.
Miné loved nature and took great inspiration from her seasonal home on the Crane Estate in Ipswich. Her landscapes and other subjects are often conveyed in imaginary, highly stylized ways.
Miné Sawahara Crane (1917-1991) was both a painter and musician, as well as a dedicated patron of the arts.
Born in Hiroshima, Japan, Miné Sawahara met Cornelius Crane (1905-1962), son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard T. Crane, Jr., during his many travels to the Pacific islands. They married in Japan in 1955 and returned to the U.S., where she became an American citizen in 1960.
