Chestnut trees provide rich, meaty nuts that are full of carbohydrates and fiber. The tree grows 40-70 feet tall with a 30-50 foot spread, preferring well-drained, slightly acidic soil and full sun. The tree offers large, lush foliage and attractive, catkin-like flowers in the summer, with harvestable nuts in the fall.
