The dark days of winter are over and it's time for the garden to come alive in Floriferous Spring. This kit features three plants each in their own quart pot that thrive in full sun to part shade and offer innumerable blooms early in the season which does wonders for the soul and helps our hungry pollinator friends as well.
Geranium maculatum – Wild Geranium
Exposure: Full Sun to Part Shade
Height: 1.5' to 2'
Width: 1' to 1.5'
Notes: Self-seeds and naturalizes form a pleasant little patch of profuse pink blossoms in spring. This little dude is all your floral dreams come to life. Even after the flowers subside, the plant has a dense, mounded form that packs a punch in your perennial border.
Iris cristata – Crested Iris
Exposure: Full Sun - Part Shade
Height: 6" to 9"
Width: 6" to 1'
Bloom: April - May
Notes: Delightful spreading groundcover with sword-like leaves and purple flowers that are resplendent when massed and charming in a rock garden. Deer tend to avoid but people do not- this is (and I suspect always will be) a fan favorite.
Aquilegia canadensis - Columbine
Exposure: Full Sun to Partial Shade
Notes: Showy flowers are a hummingbird magnet. Great for cut flowers. Textured leaves and interesting seedpods add to its enduring charm!
