Native Seeds
Seeds on a Mission
The Trustees has partnered with the Ecotype Project to grow native species specific to our region on our farms and collect the seeds for future generations. Massachusetts is in the eco59 region.
Profits from this seed collective helps to fund habitat restoration work across the ecoregion through the Ecotype Project, a collaborative organization dedicated to:
- creating protocols for native seed collection
- training restoration practitioners in ecotypic seed production
- making genetically appropriate plant materials locally available
- a farmer-led seed collective for small & large scale restoration efforts
